Ah, but if I don't try do it now, I will most certainly never get around to doing it - so if I can do this in the next couple of days we're good to go!
Ok, Daniele. will do for future posting and will try to go back edit the past posting - it sometimes take a little while "Saving" I am usually posting on the fly when I get a minute, such as now (in between dishes and dinner)
OK, I'm glad you can move the pin! Now, the fact that it still ends up with "Ontario" and not a more precise location is due to the fact that our current mapping system (which is 3rd party) is not supported anymore. The next version of the site will come with a complete new mapping system. In the mean time, all that matters is that the pin is in the correct location (this gets latitudes and longitudes to be recorded), and correct names should be automatically assigned later.
Funny you should say that I just tried to do exactly this. It allows me to move the pin there but, but under the map it only says Ontario Canada with the lat and long. It only puts certain city names there if they are recognized such as Hamilton, Toronto or Brampton.
Hi wildsweld! I have edited your spotting and dragged the pin to Caledon. Did you try to do it in Edit mode?
Thank you gatorfellows! Little easier to snap a pic of a caterpillar as opposed to a flitzy bird. Thank you for noticing, but the mapping on this site only allows for a few cities to choose from that is why I always mention it in the description. I have tried to drag the pin but that doesn't work either so I am forced to put in the nearest acceptable city. I have sent feedback on this as I think the spotting should accurate and not just closest city.
Hi wildsweld; you might want to check your pin for your spotting. It shows Toronto, but your description is Caledon Ontario. There has been occasions that my camera gps goes roaming and puts my spottings quite far away. Beautiful photo, thanks for sharing :)
Welcome. I am happy that you agree :-)!
Thanks for the link gatorfellows. Although I'm not exactly in Toronto, I think I saw one Black Swallowtail this summer. They are beauties!
Thank you bayucca - yup definitely agree you with!
Black Swallowtails are common in Toronto: http://www.cbif.gc.ca/spp_pages/butterflies/species/BlackSwallowtail_e.php
