Field Notes
Description:
This pretty Tiphiid Wasp couldn't wait to sip from the fresh water in the bird bath. They are black, or black marked with white, yellow or red. The females of some species are wingless. They are good to have around because they are parasitic on white grubs (Japanese beetles) of which we have many.
