Field Notes

Description:

A golden mushroom emerging as a small slightly convex cap and maturing into a vase shaped fruit curving down around the cap edge.

Habitat:

Pacific temperate rain forest of fir, hemlock, cedar, bigleaf maple, and a few red alder. An understory of salal and sword fern with a ground covering of moss. This mushroom was growing amongst the salal.
