Description:

only several cm in height, frill on slender stem, tan pointed cap with brown fringed edge

Habitat:

growing from cedar wood chip mulch around garden plants under hemlock

I love your common name for this one. :) The 'hump' shape on the top is called an 'umbo' This is a good example of why you need under shots though. That ring around the stem half way down is important and suggests there is a lot more information to be found under the cap and near the base. It would be an interesting species because most of this type have crusty tops. It is probably some type of agaricus but that's a big family.
