Description:
Dramatic change from Breeding to non breeding. During breeding these birds will have spotted backs and black from chin to belly. The black will extent to the face. But during winter these birds look similar to most shorebirds. This is a large plover with short thick dark bill. White underneath with faint spots in lines down the chest. Back and wings are a light brown with barring. Crown is also the same color brown over a light color with also a patch of brown behind the eyes. Legs are a dark color.

I have no idea what is in it's bill but there was a Yellowlegs chasing the bird.
