Field Notes

Habitat:

Chaparral

Notes:

I saw this female quail at the Indian Museum near Perris Lake. I have also seen quail in Claremont, CA. They tend to be shy and hide under shrubs. Most of the quail I have seen stay in coveys of a dozen or more.
