Description:
Male up to 21-24 cm. Fresh plumaged males with their extremely long and slender tails are unmistakable
Habitat:
Generally common in shrubby areas, grasslands, along hedgerows, and in gardens in the Andes. This trainbearer is one of the two main "city" hummingbirds in Quito, where it can be found even in many small gardens, even downtown. Mostly 2.500-3.800m.
