I would say this is a moth, very hairy body. Brownish wings with orange, white and black spots.

Should be cardui (missing "i").
This is a butterfly. The way to tell the difference between almost all moths and butterflies is by looking at the antennae. Butterflies have clubs on the end of them, moths have fuzzy antennae.
