Description:

I was watching two male red coppers (Aloeides thyra) fighting for territory when one flew into this spiders web. It stood no chance, the spider was on it within a split second.

Notes:

Aloeides thyra never sits with their wings open so this was the first time (apart from photo's in books) that I have seen the upper side which is orange with black borders. You can see Aloeides thyra here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/37214209
