Field Notes

Description:

around 2.5cm juvenile female spider

Habitat:

This specimen is on a steel backyard suburban fence onto remnant coastal dry forest

Notes:

Fences like this are often homes for juvenile Dienopus. They like the fact that gardens are regularly watered and on the outer of the fence they are rarely disturbed. The sun warms the fence on cool days and supplies shade on hot ones
