Description:
I suspect this is a form of Hawkweed or camphor weed, but I have been unable to positively identify it from my Wildflowers of Georgia book. The specimen was about 5 feet high and appeared dead except for the flowers, which are yellow and toothed on the edges.
Habitat:
Georgia Piedmont / Indian Springs State Park - located on a dry, rocky area beside a creek.
