Description:

My Guide only looked at the snake once and told me the name. "a juvenile... something, something.." recall something with 'exotic something', and regret i didn't write it down. The exotic bit might be all wrong

No, I guess you're right. It's difficult to identify it from this photo. I appreciate the help though, thank you :) If I'm lucky I might remember one day!
Well, here's a stab in the dark! Cobra Caninana? Spilotes pullatus, the highly variable tiger rat snake http://www.flickr.com/photos/travelrod/5591880297/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/fjota/2724257751/ There's no way to be certain, I think.
