Field Notes

Description:

A small songbird bird with grey head and olive upperparts, white throat and yellow underparts. This is Tregellasia capito nana - the northern subspecies. It is smaller than the southern subspecies with a pale tan face and a pale orange-brown eye ring.

Habitat:

It prefers rainforest or dense eucalypt forest, particularly where the prickly Lawyer Vine (Calamus muelleri) grows.
