Description:

Short trees 15ft tall max with fern like leaf patterns. Deep brilliant red foliage in fall. The first trees to turn color in the fall.

Habitat:

Near the edge of a forest or edge of a meadow.

They are my favorite fall color! They are poisonous by touch to some even though I am not. I think the allergic reaction is similar to poison ivy.
Interesting spotting ! Would love to see a Sumac in the wild ( poison or otherwise). Thanks for sharing this.
