Fallow deer (πλατώνι)

The Fallow Deer (Dama dama) is a type of deer from the family Cervidae. This is a a highly adaptable species that can survive in a wide range of habitats, including forest, shrubland, grassland, pastureland and plantations.
In Greece there are stable populations of the species in Rhodes island, which is in it's native range, but lots of animals can be found in controlled habitats as fenced areas, farms, etc. The pictured deer were spotted in the grounds of a local monastery, in Othrys mountain, Greece.
