Field Notes

Description:

Growing up, I only saw pink "Mimosa" (as we incorrectly called them) trees. Suddenly this year, I noticed white or pale yellow trees in abundance growing along this stretch or road.

Habitat:

Spotted growing beside road in residential area in Kennesaw, GA.

Notes:

Category 1 Exotic plant that is a serious problem in Georgia natural areas by extensively invading native plant communities and displacing native species.
