Description:

A colorful butterfly that has an odd habit of flying in a kind of "screw" pattern.

Habitat:

Attracted to sunny, open environments. Commonly found throughout North America as well as most of the rest of the world.

Notes:

This particular spotting was found in a meadow in McLean County, Kentucky.
