Large reddish brown member of the family Lucanidae, males have impressive "jaws"

Habitat:

Habitat
Deciduous forests and adjacent areas. Attracted to lights.
Range
Eastern US and adj Canada

Notes:

Larvae live in decaying wood of deciduous trees.
