Description:
This specimen grows beside my driveway entrance. It is very tall. I would estimate 20' or so. As you can see from the photograph, it stands beside a busy suburban road in an historical neighborhood.
Habitat:
A long established very wooded yard with oaks, hickory, chestnut, pine, and recent (last 20 years) plantings of Bradford Pear, redbud, dogwoods.
Notes:
A very old Juniper (thanks Ava T-B for identifying they are juniper berries) next to my driveway. I know it's been here at least 50 years.I would like help in identifying this species. Juniper (?) Which species?
Based on my limited research, maybe it's: http://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=JUVI this species? All the photos I find the seed/cone look a bit different.
