Field Notes

Description:

Long tall grass that grows on riverbeds and near streams. Usually brown and green. Has a Brown hot dog type thing that sometimes grows on it.

Habitat:

Near rives and streams. Not drought-adapted but natively found in chaparral.

Notes:

The seed pod( hot doggish thing) can be eaten if you cook it. Also used in paper making.
