Description:
Large terrestrial air-breading snail, with greyish body and brown shell. Shell is large (approx 4,5 cm across) and roundish, and makes 5-6 whorls; and is brown with some darker and lighter brown lines well visible. Horizontal growth stripes are well visibles.
Habitat:
Biggest native snail in this part of European continent, and very common in lowland forests, hedges and vineyards growing on calcareous soils. Here, found in a small lowland forest, a grove actually, with the floor totally covered by Bear's garlic (pic N° 5) - there were gorgeous smell under those trees during the walk. Shores of a small stream in Geneva lake valley.
