Description:

Slightly fuzzy, this caterpillar easily confused with other larvae of tent worm species (Malacosoma sp.) as it is present about the same time and in similar habitats.

Habitat:

Range: Common throughout eastern North America, especially southward
Habitat: Woodlands and forests; larvae feed on leaves of oak

Notes:

Spotted on a pine tree in a wooded park setting.
