Red plastic-like sticks, yellow pollen at the tips, flexible, hangs from a tree

Neighbor's front yard

Notes:

Has very few of the same kind on the tree.

This is an Australian native that has been planted extensively in warm areas of the US, where it is commonly called "bottle brush". On a personal note, I used to be terribly allergic to it (a form of contact dermatitis), but thankfully I seem to have grown out of that allergy.
