Common Murre

A striking bird with a slender bill. My friend sent me these photos and gave permission to post. I was told these two spent several hours on the boat and didn't figure out how to get out for quite a while (they kept trying to fly straight up over the sides which was too steep). It wasn't until they attempted to fly towards the other side of the boat that they were able to take off.
