Dicromantispa interrupta
36.7473, -95.9808
Field Notes
Description:
As in D. sayi, there is a thin reddish-brown band extending along the inner four-fifths of the anterior edges of the wings, from the wing base to pterostigma. But, in addition, D. interrupta also has a spot of color at the apex of the wing, as well as usually conspicuous darkenings of one (or two) cross-veins emanating inwards from near the pterostigma. Thus, the wings of D. interrupta appear more spotted(1), and the reddish border of fore-wing appears "interrupted" by the hyaline area between its basal four-fifths and the apical spot. Also, D. interrupta is generally larger in size than D. sayi. (information from BugGuide)
