Field Notes

Description:

This young bird was getting some unwanted attention from a dog and its parents were being very protective

Notes:

Many bird fledgelings leave their nest a day or so before they can actually fly. They are at great risk of predation during these hours and both parent birds make aggressive attempts to protect their chick.
