Field Notes

Description:

A medium-sized grey / gray colored moth with pointy wing edges. Wingspan - 59mm in length. Wings covered in curved line patterns. Black dots are visible on it's hindwings. One of the "black dots" is actually a parasitic insect midge if you look closely.

Habitat:

Found in the hostel washroom of Bombalai Jungle Lodge, Tawau Hills Park, Sabah.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy: 10m diameter. I woke up early for nocturnal insects left behind from last night. I spent a lot of time searching for it's species ID in the Microninae subfamily (Uraniidae), turns out it is a Geometrid Moth that resembles some Uraniid species. Special thanks to NuwanChathuranga for identifying this one.
