Field Notes

Description:

Canine related to the wolf and could have hybridized with wolves or domestic dogs. This one I saw walking in the open and unafraid with me being over 150 ft. Golden and gray color fur and bushy tail, smaller than a wolf. It was hunting for the ground squirrels in the field.

Habitat:

Found in open pasture land at the base of hills.
