Field Notes

Description:

A light green frog with bright blue markings on it's sides, orange feet and reddish orange eyes. Though when resting it only shows the green coloration and blends in with leaves very well.

Habitat:

This one was found at a breeding station in the the Mombacho Nature Reserve. The rangers set up sheets of plastic in depressions to create large puddles with overhanging plants upon which the frogs lay their eggs. The emerging tadpoles later drop into the water below.

Notes:

The second picture is of one of the eggmasses that was hanging on a leaf over the water,

Congrats!! Go on with your hummingbirds!! We are happy to help with an ID!
Thanks for selecting my spotting! I still need to go through my pictures from that trip. There should be some hummingbird images that still need to be ID'd.
Congratulations SG in CR, this lovely frog is our PN Spot of the Day! https://www.facebook.com/projectnoah/photos/a.10150595289465603.674700.10150120463815603/10157041545295603/?type=3&theater https://twitter.com/projectnoah/status/743594265754869760
