Field Notes

Description:

Noctuidae; Noctuinae; Prodeniini; Spodoptera litura (Fabricius, 1775). According to Wikipedia, this moth is known as the Tobacco Cutworm or the Cotton Leafworm.

Habitat:

My wife spotted this moth on the mossy trunk of a very old mango tree in the rice mill front yard and took a some pictures for me, using her cellphone camera.
