Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized fly. Grayish body with some stripes. Beautiful eyes! Wings clear with dark markings. Probably Chrysops niger or calvus.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Blydenburgh County Park, NY.

Notes:

Fortunately, my insect repellent was working!
