Description:

Neoscona adianta is a species of spider belonging to the family Araneidae. It has a Palaearctic distribution. A medium-sized orb-web spider (up to 8mm long) with pairs of bold white, oblique marks down the centre of the abdomen. The abdomen has a ground colour that can be brownish, reddish or greenish.
The web is usually constructed among flower heads, the spider sitting in full view beside the web on a pad of silk.
The pictured adult female was spotted on her net, in a prairιe in National park of Tzoumerka mountains, Epirus region, Greece.
