Description:

This is an easily recognized and quite common but attractive butterfly, about 8-9 cm in wingspan.

Habitat:

In spite of its predominant English name (Scarce Swallowtail) this is a very common butterfly in coastal region of Croatia. Here seen in a backyard garden, of a house located in mixed habitat - mainly Mediterranean woodland and close to the sea, with some gardens around.
