Field Notes

Description:

Medium size butterfly, 4-5 cm wingspan, females half a centimeter bigger than the male. The wing anverse is orange colour with black spots while the reverse in pale yellow and black with brown reflections. Both sexes are very similar in design and colour.

Habitat:

Pine tree forest at Parque Nacional de Sierra de Guadarrama at 1850 m. above the sea level
