Field Notes

Description:

Small, chunky, robust weevil of about 3 mm in length. The upper side is ridged with scales and hairs, the underside is red-brown. It is well camouflaged on wood and bark. Family Curculionidae, Subfamily Molytinae.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
