Field Notes

Description:

Smallish, oval-shaped berries in lovely shades of cream and pink. Pleasantly sour. Edible raw as well as cooked.

Habitat:

Neighbour's garden.

@cole21 Very small (smaller than a seed-less grape) and oval...I suppose the colours are reminding you of peach.

I will check Brian, thanks. Interestingly we have a story in India...one Guru sent his apprentices to the forest to collect Non-medicinal plants and only ONE came back empty handed saying he had not found a SINGLE plant that did not have medicinal properties. The Guru embraced him as an equal...I think the student was Charaka...it is a story I heard as a kid!
Wonderful spotting Sukanya! I was just reading Wikipedia about the plant and it mentioned its medicinal uses. I'm wondering if there is a mission for plants that have medicinal properties in India?
