Field Notes

Description:

These are medium sized toads. The ones I saw were about 2.5-3 inches. The dorsum is light brown with raised dark spots and a white line that runs from between the eyes to the cloaca. The parotid glands are prominent and brownish in color. The venter is usually unspotted.

Habitat:

These are found across the plains of Iowa. These particular ones were found in a flooded valley behind a rural house.

Notes:

Short little chunky things. Cute.
