Field Notes

Description:

Dark woody, glossy fungus in tiers about 50 to 70 mm wide. The irregular margins were devoid of any algal or mossy covering making them noticeably attractive. <br> The underside was uneven and covered with minutes short spines that were only obvious on close inspection. <br> The underside also had droplets of moisture.

Habitat:

Spotted on the trunk of a large eucalypt - damp rain forest
