Field Notes
Description:
Reddish brown above, gray stripe from crown to back, sides have a whitish-buff stripe edged with black. Note white stripes on side and face. Ears short, buffy. Tail long, fluffy. Gathers nuts in cheeks. Hibernates in winter.
Habitat:
Mixed woods, brush, stone walls.
