Field Notes

Description:

Colourful day-flying metalmark moth as in the photo.

Habitat:

Rainforest at the top of a ridge at about 1100 m. It is close to a major road and spoilt habitat, but there is also quite a bit of forest left.

Notes:

An hour's drive north of Tarapoto in an area close to 'Tarapoto Tunnel'.

Thanks Daniele. I have another in that genus which is my nearest. However I sometimes find similar ones in different genera.
