Description:

A common jelly I find around Kodiak. They have long tentacles, red eyes, and is almost entirely transparent.

Habitat:

Harbor where many commercial and charter fishing boats dock

Thanks Machi. In the article it was unclear if he was referencing only box-jellies or not. Several of the statements seem to include all jellies. I appreciate the info. Again, cool spotting.
Tukup, in the case of this species, they have ocelli, or eyespots/light-sensitive spots. I am not sure if they are as sophisticated as box jellyfish though.

Tukup Tukup just now I didn't know jellyfish have eyes, so I asked Google. NOAA ocean explorer said, " jellyfish has no ears or eyes or nose and no brain or heart! They do not even have a head. Hmmm. I was confused (a common state of mind for me) as you normally know what you're talking about. So I went further and found they do indeed have eyes https://www.livescience.com/7243-jell...
