Field Notes

Description:

Some very good looks at this Northern Parula on the ground, which I found unusual for a warbler species. It flew to the tree for a bit before flying off. Breeding plumage showing olive yellow patch on back, beautiful yellow throat and upper chest with dark blue/grey necklace.Partial white eye ring and undertail coverts and breast. What a beautiful little bird!

Habitat:

El Rey archaeological site near Cancun, Yucatan.
