Description:

Slender stems of delicate, intricate white orchid flowers growing singly in the boggy grass and horsetails around the shore of Lightning Lake, Manning Park, BC.

Habitat:

North Cascades, lakeshore bog.

Notes:

Pojar and Mackinnon has some interesting details about this orchid. They describe the fragrance from this beautiful white orchid as a mix of cloves, vanilla and mock orange. Accurate description. The Shuswap First Nation believed it to be poisonous and used it for coyote and bear bait.
