Description:
Was spotted feeding on pink phlox.Have seen many go by phlox, as it is one of it's nectar plants.A sexually dimorphic species, both male and females have black wings with a row of yellow spots along the margins, far more pronounced in the male. The hind wing has a submarginal band of blue which is much more extensive in the female.This one here is a female.
Habitat:
Gardens,Meadows,fields.Found in North America, and is commonly found in the east to Texas, where this one was found.
Notes:
Commonly seen through it's seasonal flight time, which is from early March to October.
