Description:
Family: Limacodidae (Slug Moths). Length: 10-15 mm. Female is significantly larger. Chocolate brown FW is marked with chestnut and black patches. Isolated mint green patches in inner median and subapical areas can be fused or even absent on some moths. Hosts: Trees and woody plants, including apple, beech, chestnut, maple, and oak.
Habitat:
Woodlands, yards, gardens, wherever host plants are found.
Notes:
Mating moths found hanging out in a deck garden planter.
