Mojave Fringe-toed Lizard
Uma scoparia
35.0086, -115.476
Field Notes
Description:
Another common pale colored lizard around the Mojave Desert area. This lizard is around 4 inches long. Wider body and different back patterns compared to Desert Iguana which is another common pale colored lizard in the area.
Habitat:
I found this one just chilling under one of the shrubs in more sandy area of the desert.
Notes:
Due to a previous spotting of a Desert Iguana, I was looking out for light colored lizards near shrubs. I couldn't distinguish between the two looking from afar.
