Field Notes

Description:

Tarsometatarsus.
Note the relatively short shaft (only other birds around this size would be perching birds which have much longer and skinnier tarsometatarsus), presence of proximal foramen, and the deflected second trochlea.

Habitat:

In mess of Australian pine needles by a lake, under the pine trees.
