Field Notes

Habitat:

Suburban yard

Notes:

This is a common suburban reptile. It can be found under boards, rocks, or other debris. This one is curled up in a ball for defense. They have powerful jaws; don't ask how I know. This one lost its tail before I found it. I'm sure you all know this, but I'll say it anyway. When a lizard loses its tail, it squirms around to attract the attention of the predator off of the prey. Works for cats.
