Uups, now I notice the category... Maybe a picture of the whole plant would help as well. You may add in the description the name of the butterfly and ask for help for the plant, so everybody knows that immediately. I suggest that you ask first for the plant, so others may see the question on the screen first.

Not so easy as I thought at the beginning ;-)... I would say it is Danaus gilippus, very similar to Danaus eresimus. http://bugguide.net/node/view/3942/bgimage
