Dalmation Toadflax

Also known as Balkan or Broadleaf toadflax, this plant is an invasive species in North America. It was introduced to N. America in the late 19th century as an ornamental and has since spread across the continent. It is hard to get rid of, crowds out native plants, and is damaging to pastures for livestock as it is potentially harmful for animals to eat and crowds out good forage. A mature plant can produce as many as 500,000 seeds which remain viable for 10 years and they put up shoots from lateral roots if they are not dug up.
